Tristan Bridges is an Associate Professor in the sociology department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His research is primarily concerned with shifts in the gender identities and practices of young men and how those transformations relate to contemporary gender and sexual inequality.
With Professors Kristen Barber and Joseph Derrick Nelson, Tristan is also Co-Editor of Men and Masculinities. The journal is among the leading academic journals publishing feminist scholarship on masculinities.
In addition to this work, Tristan is also an actively engaged public sociologist. He has written a great deal for non-academic audiences and is regularly interviewed about research on gender and sexual inequality. See his curriculum vitae for more information.
